Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. Her albums span over 20 years. DiFranco's music is classified as folk, alternative and rock and pop, however she also draws influences from jazz and hip-hop. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy winner Ani DiFranco has been referred to as the "mother" of the DIY movement and is among the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd 1970. She is the daughter Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco, who had become acquainted while at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The mother of her is from Montreal as is her father, who has Italian roots. Ani diFranco wrote and sang the song 32 Flavors. The song is featured on her sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. This song appears in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco acknowledged her apology in 2013, after it became known she was planning to host an event for three days on an Louisiana past slave plantation. However, many (including this paper) didn't detect remorse. DiFranco apologized for her mistake a couple of days following. Although she is best known as Little Folksinger, her work encompasses many different genres. Her collaborators include Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani diFranco as well as Kristen Ford are together. When she was 14, she had begun singing her own tunes. She performed them in bars and coffee houses throughout her teenage years.
