Zoe-perry

Perry is Perry is a Chicago native, born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles were two appearances on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne as the character played by her mother. The actress did not go on to explore acting as a profession after reaching adulthood because her parents were worried about the detrimental consequences stress can cause. Perry admitted that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school. However, she began doing it to connect with new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry had the opportunity to secure small TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent following her graduation. The feeling of homelessness, however, caused her to move back to California and she returned working in the stage. Perry performed with her mom as part of The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's crime thriller The Family. In 2017, Perry played a supporting role in ABC's political thriller Scandal which starred her father. The same year her character was cast a young character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen version of her mother's. The role was selected through an audition, even though she had a close relationship with the show.
